The Archipelago. Sandy Point
The southernmost island in the long chain, it is a two hour drive from the closest island and half a day's trip to Millwood Lake. The fishing industry gave way to tourists lured by the sandy beaches, slow paced family friendly locale and cheap prices. The atmosphere has deteriorated somewhat but some of the remaining shops and rental cottages are both interesting and reasonably priced. Purchasing property in Sandy Point is a riskier venture - most buyers lose money. It is a place to live, not invest.
